AUGUST

THURSDAY 8/30:

As I enjoy these nice soft cookies F2 got for me for lunch, I was thinking about sharing with you "The Lessons for Cookies". If men and women applied the same rules to their relationships and dealings with each other as little boys and girls should apply these rules to dealing with cookies, the world would be a nice soft cookie...

Lesson #1: If you got a good cookie, be happy with it and don't worry about the cookie the other kids have got.

Lesson #2 If you got a bad cookie throw it away, check the expiration date, and you might not want to try that brand anymore.

Lesson #3: No cookie jar is out of your reach but don't make an ass of yourself trying to reach it.

Lesson #4: If some kid licks or bites your cookie, just let them have it and get another. Not worth fighting for.

Lesson #5: One cookie at a time. you might get sick.

Lesson #6: Treat your cookie good and it will be good to and for you.

I hoped you learned something today...well...aside from the fact that I'm an idiot...

BONG!

WEDNESDAY 8/29:

-Well, after Star's tasteless Aaliyah skit on Monday and his "apology" on Tuesday (if you don't know, ask somebody), I turned to Hot 97 this morning and heard no Star, no Bucwild (who was on vacation anyway), only Miss Jones...Hmmmm. Does anybody know what happened?

-Why is it so hard to leave this job? Aside from the internet access better than the one I have at my house, and the fact that I can wear whatever I want...I need a better paying job. I think it's because in the back of my mind if I started coming in to work in suits because I had interviews, my boss (who has done things along that line before) would terminate me before I found another job. Which would suck big time. Maybe I'll save some money for a month or two...

-I decided last night that my album title, if I was a singer/rapper/musician, or title of my book, if it was humorous, would be "While Supplies Last". I know...stupid..

-I declare Jay-Z the victor in the Nas vs. Jay-Z beef after hearing "Takeover" (streaming audio...link may not work forever) off The Blueprint. Yes, bootleggers and bootleggettes, the new Jay-Z album is circulating at a FTP nearest you...can the Michael Jackson album be far behind? Artists keep trying to keep their shit off the 'net but it can;t be done...too powerful. Damn you, Al Gore!

-Happy Birthday, Mommy Dearest. Stop breaking the phones I keep buying you for your birthday, Christmas, and Mother's Day!

MONDAY 8/27

one in a million...

January 16, 1979-August 25, 2001

So Me and F2 D2 are coming back from Great Adventure, discussing going on Nitro four times (and loving every minute of it) and Michael Jackson's new song and listening to the radio (Kiss FM, I think) and then Chuck Chillout comes on saying that Aaliyah passed away, dies in a plane crash in the Bahamas. I immediately turn off the radio and we just look at each other and are like "No Way" and "Where'd you hear that???". So I text message my two friends who can be text messaged thinking everybody knows this already. When they call me back like "what are you talking about?", I start having a moment of denial.

So, as F2 was calling various peeps, I needed to know for sure so I did the "radio check". The "radio check" which I coined after Big L died is when an artist dies and the radio instead of telling you (or you just missed the announcement) keeps playing that artist's songs until you can't stand the artist anymore. So as I say, Before I can believe it I need to do a....

"We need a resolution
We need a resolution..."

Aww damn, she's dead.

It's a shame. Was gonna be in The Matrix sequels. She has The Queen of the Damned coming out. I REALLY do not wanna see the final cut of the "Rock the Boat" video a) because it is kinda morbid to see someone's last moments and b) that was my least favorite song on the album (kinda like Raul Juila dying and the last movie he filmed was his role as Bison in "Street Fighter" .

Anyway, I liked Aaliyah. She made good music. It was still up in the air if she was gonna be another Whitney Houston or a good actress. Glad she hooked up with Timbaland after the R. Kelly mess (wonder if we will find out the truth now...also, poor Dame Dash). I don't know. What is a summer without a hot Timbaland/Aaliyah combo?

Rest in piece.

DVS Update: The August Bitchass of the Month has been posted

TUESDAY 8/21:

Another post another long absence...maybe I will just try and post twice a week and then I won't feel like I let myself down when I only do once every two weeks but I digress...

-Sample Sales are the truth. I went to the Triple 5 Soul one on Saturday and came away with a big bag of stuff for under $50 (granted there was an add'l hookup but it was still booty cheap)

After all my talking, begging, pleading, ranting and raving...Saturday, I caught the sneak preview of

(take away half a star if you haven't seen--and enjoyed--at least 3 of the 4 Kevin Smith)

Why this movie was so good (without giving away too much):
-Jay (Jason Mewes) taking center stage
-Kevin Smith's facial reactions
-Ben Affleck & Matt Damon taking a piss of the movie careess of...Ben Affleck and Matt Damon
-"Good Will Hunitng 2: Hunting Season"
-Any scene acknowledging the audience
-Scooby Doobie Doo
-(Almost) Everybody returning at least for a cameo
-Cockknocker
-The fact they gace Kevin Smith a budget and he used every penny
-Jay and Silent Bob's returbution on Discussion Board posters
-Will Ferrell's Wildlife Marshall (in what can easily be a character on SNL)

There's plenty of more but just trust me and go see it on Friday

-So I read somewhere that one of the guys from FUBU was indicted for money laundering? WTF? He was laundering all that money and these muthafuckas still charging $75 for some over-designed jeans??? That's the REAL crime!

-Listening to Lauryn Hill talk these days she is starting to sound like post-Jagged Little Pill Alanis Morrisette...hope her next album doesn't tank like Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie did...I think I'll like this Lauryn Hill better, I don't think MTV/TRL will tho. Maybe VH-1...

-Well, the results of the poll are in and I would like to thank everyone who responded--both of you--just kidding. Anyway, it looks like I am getting a digital camera. Works best anyway. I just need more VCR disicpline.

-Now I have a new poll. I would once again appreicate your help...

-The Five Deadly Venom Spitters have been conducting secret meetings and are egtting ready to drop some bombs on the world...be ready...

-If you haven't seen this already, Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (requires Flash and speakers)

-I finally heard the new Michael Jackson song "You Rock My World"...Ladies and Gentlemen, he's back. That shit is hot...I hope the TRL generation can accept him again. I mean...damn. Even I wasn't ready...

SITE UPDATE: New poll for you to decide my life with...

FRIDAY 8/10:

My evil master, Lou S. Cypher, will be in the office so I will try and make this quick...

You know I need a job that I won't mind going to. I think that is my goal. Beyond being happy with my paycheck, I would like to go to a place where I don't wake up in the morning praying for a snowstorm in August or some freak accident in the office causing it's temporary closing (with pay, of course).

Of course, I shoudl have thought of this when I was blowing the money spent on a expensive college but I didn't. You know how life is? You think you know what you want and when you realize that isn't it anymore. You have to start over.

Of course, mine has a monthly reminder of $232 or so...

at least I am not the only one...thanks Huey

-The Poll: Getting a Digital Camera has a slight lead over the Tivo but I still need your help. HELP ME

From XXL Magazine :

-And apparently, these weren't the worst pictures...pretty quiet over there from Prodigy. I feel sorry for Prodigy's granma...she obviously wanted him to do something positive...probably saw a Mobb Deep video and said "Honey, why don't you dance like your grandmama taught you?"

MONDAY 8/6:

Yes, after another lenghty absence I return...

Did you miss me?

Probably not...

It's been awhile so let's get striaght to business:

-I didn't see Planet of the Apes (I heard bad tings) and I didn't see Rush Hour 2 (don't see the big rush to see it now). I did catch Ghost World () last night...another in a long line of "Movies with heroes/heroines you find it hard to cheer for" (my favorite in that bunch being "Rushmore"). After seeing the movie, I wondered how the comic book could be...time to investigate. Anyway, it wasn't better than Hedwig and the Angry Inch, so until August 22nd (Nootch), that remains my summer movie pick of 2001.

-Yo, when the fluck does "OZ" come back to HBO? I need to know who's dead after the explosion. If anyone knows when it is coming back, lemme know...

-I am having a personal dilemna. Be my friend, click here, and help me out, ok?

-The DVS and Sith Pimp have gone on hiatus. Hopefully, they will come back with some shit soon.
